A super Moon last night and the Solstice are upon us. Lots of twinkle lights out in the yard and the birdies are flying in for seeds. Macy next to me on the couch and covered in her blanket. Short, cold, dark days with the polar Vortex coming east and south from the North Pole, Santa diligently getting ready for Christmas, Hanukkah here, and the festivals of light and love happening in many places. Acclimating to the cold, prepping our home with piles of wood and getting ready to set out tree inside, covering it with lights and special ornaments collected over the years. Tonight. I am looking forward to this. To cozy moments with our family after the chaos of the weeks leading up to vacation week. My sparkly Ladybug is almost done with exams at her University. I can't wait 'til she gets home. And my twinkly Rainbow girl is so busy. She has started track 3 days per week in addition to her figure skating the other three, school work, and her time maintaining friendships. My dear partner is working so hard getting his triathlon coaching business off the ground, along with lifeguarding, training, parenting, and being the loving and kind Canuck he is. Happy existence and bliss in life. I am subbing in 5th and 6th grade three days in the next week which will make life just a little more hectic. yikes. Sending love out to the world, warmth, and wishes for all goodness to come to you.

rewind.... to mid September. We had an amazing weekend in Detroit for the design festival.

Art Deco Architecture. Wonderful people. Grit, design, industry is Detroit.
WE LOVE DETROIT! What an amazing place. Great eats. So much to see. Flew into Toronto and saw family on our trip in both directions. Wonderful to be in one of our family's favorite places.
We drove under the Detroit River to enter Detroit and left through Port Heron, where my Mother-in-Law was from. So cathartic to see Windsor where my partner began life, and traverse all the places he grew to be who he is today.

...already mid-October. hard to beleive

Crisp nights have arrived. Woodstove cranking along and our new kitten is resting comfortable near the hearth. Our college junior brought her home to surprise our tenth grader last Friday night. Such fun to watch a new soul exploring her world. climbing curtains, chasing our jack russell and older kitty.
