finally spring days are here

The birds are nesting and our sparkly girl has arrived home from University. Kitties and our terrier on the bed for coffee and sweet moments. books and computers around. The Rainbow girl and her friend are fast asleep after a night volunteering to direct Ragnar race runners and Confirmation dinner. Days lengthening. Grass growing, and my Canuck partner has relocated here. Life has changed again and we are all getting ready for triathlon season, training, swimming, bike riding, and I've begun to run again, slowly taking the steps needed to pursue my 1/2 ironman goal in October. Building cardio and strength. New Bike, life progressing. Rainbow girl loving the Sailing team, Cape Cod Blossoming.

spring... breathe... light... sunshine... daffodils! hyacinth... snow drops and hellebore.... sigh...

Today was warm and the sun actually warmed me from the wind. I walked to the fish ladder and heard that the game wardens have been visiting the fish ladders. It seems early but they are swimming in to spawn... amazing... they can find their way home. Easter weekend was chock full of driving and visiting and lovely moments with our dearest folks. Sending love out to the world and wishing for peace and safety for all beings.

possibilities.... so many, at each turn in the path.

it is February 23. inspired by my Gun and Garden Forest Friend's rendition of trying to replicate my now famous granola. Named after my childhood companion, a pony, the best in the Universe, Red Star. White Cloud and Red Star spent countless adventures from the age of 4 through 15. Then she continued on to her next little companion, Farm Princess, adventures.
She was bright, energetic, intelligent, sound, diligent, and fearless. Red would carry me over any fence in field, through forest, on beaches, and open fields. She was incredible, and that is why my granola is named for her.
....this morning thinking... my granola has spawned the granola chronicles....I visited her resting place beneath a beautiful tree, on the most wonderful farm in Southern Vermont last Friday. She is surrounded by the most authentic family, one I have adopted as mine, with their chickens, rabbits, goats, sheep, cows, horses which have evolved from the ones she spent her last years running with. A dairy farm I love. Earth, animals, fields, trees, sky, and hills. Beauty beyond measure.
and so.
The Granola Chronicles begin. Stories of friends, found on adventures, lured by the promise of the next batch, never the same, yet made with love, the fire from the sun, a sprinkle of nostalgia, fun, inspiration, and mischief.

My sparkly ladybug turned 20 years old today.

20 years after my firstborn daughter arrived all pink and spunky, she has turned 20. I find this amazing. It seems like the time has gone to fast. And yet, here I am, in retrospect, loving all the moments we've shared, and I am so happy she has turned 20. What a blessing, she is healthy, and intelligent, wise, and insightful, and I am so proud to be her mother. Wahe Guru, two beautiful children I am so lucky to love. Blessings from Cape Cod. Loving the 10 inches of snow we got today on top of the 6 from Friday. Plows out scraping the paved earth, moving zillions of snowflakes. Which will be icy in the morning when I take my rainbow twinkle 14 year old to the bus stop. Thank you Universe for a beautiful snow day today. I feel so blessed. love to you.
