Green to red and golden shades of brown... evolution and change everywhere...
My sparkly lady bug is off to University and volunteering at the Aquarium... Life unfolding for her as she looks around the world in the Boston area.
My twinkly rainbow girl... working to excel in eighth grade and her skating endeavors. So much happening... looking for nuances in the things I do. Education, farmer's, art and vintage markets. Animals to love. Interests to blossom and grow into the next form of work for me. Took on a large gathering in the spring for a teacher's appreciation luncheon for about 100 people. Looking forward to getting back into the culinary and flower world's I put on hold when I had my children. So much to do! Have the most wonderful sparkling day!

sunshine and a cool breeze....

After days of cool cloud cover the sun has finally peeked its rays through the clouds and we are being showered with abundant light. This feels so good at this time of year... anytime really. Sunshine packs me with energy... I radiate and glow with the warmth I feel. The water has warmed up on Cape Cod and the days feel long and lovely. Ventured out to a bonfire the other night. Beach sand like silk, fire licking the marshmallows on sticks, gooey fingers washed in salt water, and splashing looking for bioluminescence... and foxes on the beach... the nature everywhere. love. Camps are over and we have found a few days to recuperate from the year before great changes and a new year begins in four short weeks. loving these quiet moments and wishing for the health of my dear partner's Mom.... reflecting on how lucky I am to have such dear souls in my life. blessings on you. us

Memorial Day weekend and the summer months begin on Cape Cod and Block Island

School days drawing to an end for the sparkly lady bug that entered my life 18 years ago.... High School will be complete in 2 weeks. Graduation will happen on June 7th. Time has been flying at the speed of light.... The effervescent Rainbow girl turns 13 next Friday... and will complete 7th grade on the 20th and we will road trip to Northern Vermont to Circus Smircus Camp to begin the Summer's activities and adventures. Wishes for the sun to warm you. Sleep to recharge you, and the days to be filled with love and laughter. We have so much to do right now. Clipping back the growing green, planting, mulching, and trying to stay ahead of the incoming mail, household chores, and projects that meet us each spring.

introspection

It is an introspective day. mission, initiative, motivation, direction.
snow and ice falling.
school called off.
housebound and loving the quiet moments.
My sparkly ladybug will be 18 at the end of the week. We have grown together and woven over the years and as she readies herself to fly... I am grounded and will watch her soar to her next experiences. I am exceedingly proud of her senior project, Art Empowerment blog, of her volunteering in the schools. Giving her time to lots of youngsters, and of her willingness to keep working and skating through the trials and tribulations of her senior year, sicknesses, and fatigue.
I am also especially proud of my loving effervescent rainbow girl for working so hard at maintaining her high level of dedication to her studies, constant motion, skating, and sledding yesterday with excessive 12 year old gusto and abandon. laughing in glee as she flew over the slick and frozen earth.... racing her favorite friend, aquatic racer, in fun and happiness.
I am feeling the effects of flying through the air and slamming and taking air as we flew over the frozen golf course. Neck radiating dull annoyance, reminding me I am aging. What fun... I was wishing for skiing but that will have to wait for one day soon! All is frozen and frosted slick on Cape Cod. Spitting falling snow drops.... sounds like falling ice particles. Ahhhh... lovely February day.
